The 60th Anniversary of the Royal Hospital School is recorded in this brief film which includes an unusual ceremony for the payment of a 'peppercorn' rent.

There are scenes of the boys, the school band and the headmaster, Mr. Kirk. Marion Leeson, Chairperson of Holbrook Parish Council, watches a march past by the boys and girls. Mrs. Leeson hands over a single Suffolk reed to the headmaster (the reed represents the 'peppercorn' rent the school charges).
