Electrification of railway line from Liverpool Street Station.
Shots of overhead wires and a driver in his cab introduce a film about the electrification of the eastern home counties railway lines. Steam trains are compared with electric trains at Liverpool Street station. Footage of the overhead wiring process at Stratford shows men at work on the specially converted train. The flat wagons carry the huge cable drums, while the carriage roofs provide a catwalk for the men. As steam trains billow their smoke into the air, the men continue to work overhead. A final shot shows steam engine 65476 passing the stationary engine 4773. [incomplete].
