Amateur story film to show the response of the No.10 Wisbech Branch of St John's Ambulance Brigade, along with the police and GPO Telephone Service, to a staged road accident.

On an August Sunday, cars, buses, motorcycles and bicycles are travelling along a road, perhaps Cromwell Road, four miles from Wisbech. A party of careless cyclists are knocked down by a car and lie in the road. Two members of St John's Ambulance arrive and one returns to the roadside HQ to summon help. More brigade members arrive and administer first aid as bystanders look on. A policeman arrives on a bicycle and takes notes. Back at brigade HQ, a telephone call is made - the exchange switchboard is shown as the call is put through to the police station. An ambulance leaves the garage of W.H Johnson and Sons, Motor Engineers, and arrives at the scene. A victim is taken to the hospital by the ambulance. The final sequence shows the Brigade's fund raising day: money is collected in sheets spread by the roadside. Captions appeal for support. The film ends with flag sellers outside shops in Wisbech.
