Promotional film detailing the building of an extension to the Hotpoint factory in Peterborough.

Establishing shots of scenes around Peterborough including the River Nene and Peterborough Cathedral. Following an aerial view of the Hotpoint Factory in 1958, diagrams explain the layout and stills show the extension under construction, including the function of each different stage. Hotpoint sales figures are also outlined. The abestos roof is fitted, the concrete floor is poured, asbestos cowls are attached to the roof, heating pipes are fitted and the floor is smoothed. There is further work on the roof. Finally, the first piece of equipment, a 200 ton press, is shown.
