A local record of a coaster and its cargo navigating the Yare from Yarmouth to Norwich.
The small coaster, Palbro Pride, owned by J.T. Palmer of Gravesend, carries a cargo of 250 tons of soyabean meal for animal feed up the Yare to Norwich. The vessel makes its way from Yarmouth quay. Along the route, a sight of Haven Bridge and Breydon water. The skipper, Harry Westley, talks about his job. Reedham railway bridge, and then Brundall with a diesel multiple unit on the track. At Norwich, the old swing bridge opens and the boat is moored. The cargo is unloaded by crane grab into Dalgety Spillers Feed lorries.
