A portrait of a Norfolk butcher at work in his shop and smokehouse in the village of Martham.

Near the village sign and the duck pond at Martham sits George Chapman's butcher's shop. George serves his customers in his shop. At the back of the butcher's is a small smokehouse. George lights a fire and smokes some meat. He continues to work in the shop serving and chopping meat. The film ends with a view of the centre of Martham.
