The first part of an amateur record, filmed in colour by a member of the Institute of Amateur Cinematographers, of day-to-day scenes at Lowestoft Harbour in the 1950s.

A sequence of harbour scenes at Lowestoft: gulls, trawlers, fish in ice being unloaded and sorted at dawn. There are shots of fisherman mending nets and views of trawlers leaving harbour. Further footage shows the gutting and filletting of fish.
