A day in the life of Holbrook village.
Newspapers are being marked up in the newsagent's and delivered; people walk dogs, go to work and the school bus drops children at the school. There are shots of a building site, a milkman, an old people's home, a playgroup in the village hall and Mr Warrenton Page entering the Methodist Church. Children are in the County Primary School playground and in the main hall. Scenes at the Co-op, and at a small printing works follow. Street views show refuse collectors. There are shots of the post office and The Compasses pub. The Rev. Colin Craven visits Mr. And Mrs. Chandler in Clench Road. Boys play on the field of the Royal Hospital School; Peter Page, the headmaster's gardener, pushes a wheel barrow containing an enormous pumpkin. He fishes from his boat in Holbrook Creek and we see construction work at Alton Water. Finally, houses in Reade Road, a policeman, and a postman collecting the mail in his van.
