A promotional film detailing the rearing and processing of turkeys on the Bernard Matthews' farm.
Beginning with the buying of a turkey in a shop, the entire process of rearing turkeys for the domestic market is covered in this promotional film for Norfolk-born entrepreneur, Bernard Matthews. On the sites at Gt. Witchingham Hall and Weston Longville airfield, eggs are collected from both small coops and battery enclosures. Hatching takes place in incubators, and debeaking when the birds are one month old. There are shots the genetic research team at work. At the factory the turkeys are killed and prepared for packaging. In a domestic kitchen, a woman unpacks her turkey and prepares it for cooking. Finally, a chef carves a turkey and there are shots of wrapped birds.
