Amateur record of the rearing of poultry, a popular occupation during the 1930s. The film also contains excerpts of films from the Pathe 9.5 film catalogue.

After a slow motion sequence of birds in flight, different breeds of poultry, such as White Leghorns and Rhode Island Reds, are shown. Tips are given as to what makes a quality bird. Different types of coops are featured. At a country house, poultry feed is mixed and coops are moved by horse and cart. Several birds are examined expertly for the camera. There is an excerpt from 'The Dippy Do Dah Club', an animal comedy featuring dogs, ducks, chickens and monkeys attending a boxing match between two cockrels. There are details of poultry houses showing how the birds enter and leave, and a high wire netting enclosure. There is a field of free range chickens, and scenes showing the raising of chicks. Methods of feeding and watering are depicted. A man spits out a stream of eggs in a trick shot. There are views of plucked birds ready for market and an early battery house. Finally, there are extracts from a Pathe instructional film on geese, gulls and ducks called 'Webfooted Birds', shots of ducks, geese, swans and cygnets taken by the film maker, and a Charlie Chaplin pastiche animal comedy called 'Ducks and Drakes'.
