For Saving Lives
1929 , Cromer (Norfolk)
Cat no. 751
Newsreel pictures of the launching of the new Cromer Lifeboat in 1929, featuring the legendary lifeboat man, Henry Blogg.
The new lifeboat plunges down the slipway into the sea, filled with lifeboat men in their oilskins. The boat races through the waves and eventually is hauled back up the slipway. A shot from within the lifeboat shed shows the boat being secured. The crew stand in a group and pose for the camera, followed by a close-up of Henry Blogg, twice awarded the VC for his service.
