The annual Oyster Feast held at the Guildhall, Colchester.

At the annual Oyster Feasts held in The Guildhall, Colchester in 1983, guests are assembled in the Hall ready for the ceremony. The guests of honour enter headed by the Civic Mace. These include Rt. Hon. John Wakeham, MP, Sir Anthony Buck, MP, and Arthur Marshall, television presenter. A large basket of oysters is ceremoniously shown to the Mayor and the guests. The Mayor poses with the guests, as others dine. Waiters and waitresses hand out plates of oysters. They are filmed opening the oysters with a knife. There are general views of the crowded room.
