Norwich Cathedral.
The film begins with shots of Norwich and the Cathedral from Mousehold Heath. There are ground level shots of the Spire, the Cathedral, the Norwich School and its Chapel and the Upper Close. A ferry draws in at Pulls' Ferry. Horses and carriages are visible across the river on Riverside Road. There are extensive views of the Lower Close. The final shot in this sequence is of Edith Cavell's grave.The next sequence shows the restoration of the Cloisters between 1935 and 1938. Stone masons are filmed at work and a man paints the ceiling bosses. This section ends with views of the Cloisters and of the rooftops of Norwich.The final sequence is shot in colour. This shows the newly painted ceiling bosses. These depict scenes from the bible and early church history, including the Last Supper and St. Peter being crucified upside down. There are views of the stained glass windows in the cathedral and then exterior shots of the building.

Herbert de Losinga, first Bishop of Norwich, laid the foundation stone of his new Cathedral Church in the year 1096. Within five years sufficient was built to enable it to be consecrated and used for worship. For 800 years his noble building with its cloud encircled spire has been the Glory of East Anglia.1935 - 1938. The reparation of the Cloisters.
