A family holiday on the broads, sponsored by Blakes Holiday Ltd.

The film begins with a montage of Broads scenes showing various types of river craft. There are aerial views of the Broads and a map shows the Broads area. The first part of the film foods a family on their holiday aboard a motor cruiser. They arrive at the Yacht Station at Wroxham and are shown their boat. The Father is shown how to use the boat. After shots of the boat on the River and views of the Broads, the cruiser moors and the interior of the boat is displayed to show the facilities on board. The Mother cooks and the family eats supper. Father takes a shower and finally the children go to bed allowing their parents to visit a restaurant. The film offers an impression of the Broads rather then a travelogue as such. The family discover a painter at work and the wildlife of the Broads, including Grebe, a heron and deer. They go fishing as well as visiting the main Broadland tourist sites. These shots are intercut with general Broads scenes. They moor at Yarmouth Yacht Station and visit the seaside there. There are scenes of the children playing on a beach. There is a visit to the Berney Arms Mill as well as to St. Helen's Church, Ranworth, where they see the Psalter, 'Sarum Antiphoner,' and St. Benet's Abbey. They take a coach trip to Blickling Hall. This includes a visit to a wildlife park. They also visit a pub, where they have a family drink on board. The next stop filmed is at the Norwich Yacht Station. From there they visit Elm Hill and the Cathedral. There are also scenes of power boat racing on Oulton Broad. The film includes a sequence that shows a group of three young men aboard a sailing yacht. There are general sailing scenes and they visit a Broads riverside shop. There are interior scenes showing cooking and sleeping arrangements. They visit a public house and there are scenes of the interior.
