A cruise down the Broads.

This film of views from the Broads is shot from a boat as it travels along the River Bure from Wroxham. Along the way it captures people aboard various types of water craft; rowing boats, sailing boats, motor cruisers of all sizes, some very large. It also films two tourist pleasure steamers on day trips through the Broads. The people of the Broads are caught on film relaxing by the river, in their gardens or on balconies of their houses. Animals graze alongside the river and sometimes have a drink. The opening scenes of the film are shot at Wroxham and Wroxham Broad. They show the river craft, the boat yards and the houses alongside the river. As the boat leaves Wroxham, there is a shot of a windmill, seemingly in good order. There are brief views of Belaugh, including the Church, and of Coltishall. At Horstead the main feature is Horstead Mill, which has a barge moored outside. Heggatt Hall and 'Little Switzerland' follow along with Salhouse Broad and Woodbastwick Old Hall. There are shots of Horning showing a pleasure steamer and then of Horning Ferry. Filmed from across the river we see the Ferry Inn and the ferry tied up alongside. Leaving Horning we see the Swan Inn, the vicarage and the Church before shots of Ranworth Broad and South Walsham Broad. The film finishes with shots of St. Benet's Abbey.
