A carnival procession passing through the streets of Harwich, followed by scenes of the Harwich and Parkeston Football Club.
The film opens with shots of the Carnival procession as it passes through a suburban street. There is a shot of a float decorated with flowers; one display shows a shield with the names Harwich and Parkeston on it. Other displays include the fancy dress characters big heads, and a band. Some floats are designed as boats and one as an Eastern Counties railway engine. The procession moves into the town centre. The participants assemble in a recreation ground where there is a display by the Territorial Army, demonstrating the action of a 25-pounder gun. There are shots of people jiving. The next sequence films a water carnival. There are decorated boats and people on a greasy pole. There is also a flour fight. The Quay Pavilion is in the background. The final sequence is of the Harwich and Parkeston Football Club. The players and their manager, Eric Armstrong, are filmed in the dressing room. There are highlights of the match, one in a series in the Harwich Charity Cup, played at the Royal Oak ground, which Harwich and Parkeston appear to win 3 - 0. Mr. T.H.F. Bernard presents the cup to the Harwich team. Other players receive commemorative medals. The film ends with shots of the players in their dressing room and in the communal bath.
