The Old Rectory, Banningham.

The film begins with shots of the church and then exterior views of the Rectory. Most of the film is shot inside the rectory and shows many rooms, including a bedroom, the staircase landing and a sitting room. The rooms are crowded with furniture, and antiques of all kinds and of many ages. The house and its collections are owned by Bryan Hall, a picture restorer. He is seen at work on a seventeenth century portrait during the film. These shots are intercut with sequences showing the contents of the house. These include mechanical clocks, a four-poster bed, numerous portraits, musical instruments, china and toys, including a speaking picture book. There is a collection of Edwardian photographs and some of these, showing interior scenes of children in the Church and scenes along the river feature in the film.
