A new Fisons factory is opened by Lord Netherthorpe.
This film begins with guests of the company arriving by special train. Lord Netherthorpe is flown in aboard Fisons helicopter, accompanied by Mr. Peter Chevalier, vice-chairman of Fisons. At the administrative centre Lord Netherthorpe meets Sir Clavering Fison and they embark on a tour of the works. They visit the laboratory, the workshops, the compressor room and the control room. Accompanying them on the tour are Mr. J. Watson Napier, Managing Director of the Fertiliser Division and Mr. Bell, the Works Manager.The party proceeds to the Marquee for the reception and lunch. Other dignitaries at the reception include Mr. Nerve, Mr. Wormauld, the Rev. Pearce, the Rector of Stanford, Cllr. Pugh and Mr. A Gillett. Visiting scientists and others are shown passing a line of railway tankers, designed specially to carry Fison's chemical products.There are interior scenes from the marquee and from the works canteen. The speeches of Sir Clavering Fison and Lord Netherthorpe are relayed to the canteen. Extracts from these are featured in the film. Lord Netherthorpe unveils a plaque designed by Bernard Reynolds. The first special freight express leaves from Fisons compound fertiliser factory at Immingham and road tankers leave for other Fisons factories.
