Norwich and the surrounding area. Industries and businesses are included as well as its history and tourist attractions.

The film begins with distance shots over the City of Norwich, including the Cathedral. The approaches to Norwich are featured including arriving by road along Newmarket Road, by train and by boat. The scene is set with footage of the Cathedral, the Castle and City Hall along with views of Mousehold Heath. Various other Norwich buildings featured in the next sequence including; Cow Tower, Pulls Ferry, Bishop Bridge, St. Helens Church and the Great Hospital. There are many shots of the exterior of the hospital buildings. Cotman's House is noted along with Augustine Steward's House and the Samson and Hercules Ballroom, before a lengthy sequence about the Cathedral. The Cathedral is seen over the playing fields of the Norwich School and through the 14th century Erpingham Gate. The detailed carving of the gate is shown. Following shots of the west front of the Cathedral, there are interior views that include the carving on the choir stalls, the west window and the organ. The cloisters and the spire are highlighted along with the grave and memorial to Edith Cavell. There are views of the Close, including the Norwich School and the statues to Edith Cavell, Nelson and Wellington. In Tombland there is an explanation of the name and scenes of St. George's Church. There are shots of Princes Street and St. Peter Hungate and of Elm Hill, including the Strangers' Club and the Britons Arms. Continuing into the City, the film shows the Armada House, St. Andrews Hall, the Bridewell, Strangers' Hall, the Music House and the Maddermarket Theatre. The next camera sequence shows the approach to the Castle from Orford Place. There are scenes of the gardens around the Castle and shots looking down from the Motte to Castle Meadow below. Interior scenes show the art gallery which houses (among others) paintings from the Norwich School. Various Norwich Churches feature including St. Peter Mancroft, St. Giles, St. Michael At Coslany and St. Mary at Coslany.The film traces the history of the City Walls and features the wall at Carrow Hill and the Black Tower. There are aerial views from this vantage point. There are brief scenes from a Norwich City football match before concentrating on the port area of Norwich. A ship is seen going through the raised Carrow Bridge. Many other ships and barges are shown in this area, leading into a section about Norwich industries. Various Norwich Union Buildings are shown from the outside and there are views of the boardroom. Further Norwich buildings feature. Shots of City Hall and The Assembly House precede Norwich's parks and gardens. These include Eaton Park, Chapelfield Gardens and Earlham Hall and Park. The film mentions the post-war housing programmes in Norwich, the new schools that were built at Earlham and Lakenham and new City College. The Cattle Market provides the link with the agricultural countryside around Norwich. There are harvest scenes near Paston and a view of the Great Barn mentioned in the Paston Letters. There is also a scene of beet harvesting and of turkey farming. Boats sail on the Norfolk Broads and there is motor cruising at Wroxham and Horning before the film highlights Norfolk's seaside resorts. There are day and night scenes of Yarmouth, including the neon signs of the Pleasure Beach. The north Norfolk Coast features with scenes from Cromer, Sheringham, Blakeney, Wells and Burnham Overy Staithe. Back in Norwich, a Procession is taking place, the Civic Coach carries the outgoing Lord Mayor to the City Hall and leaves with the new Lord Mayor. The film ends with an evening shot of the Cathedral.
