An advertising film for Richard Garrett & Sons electric trolley buses.

The opening caption, iin Spanish, says," Richard Garrett & Sons Ltd, the famous British manufacturers of electric and steam vehicles, present their latest 55 hp 35-seater and 65 hp 60-seater electric trolley buses". Various sequences show single and double decker trolley buses about the streets of Doncaster, undertaking manoeuvres to show their manoeuvrability, ease of handling and safety. A single deck trolley bus turns around sharp bends and steers around some road works and performs a U-turn. Passengers board and alight from the trolley bus. A double decker trolley bus is filmed going over some rails and reversing around a sharp corner. Both are filmed running on the same track.

Recent orders have been received for a large number of these vehicles from Ipswich, Bradford, Grimsby, Hartlepool, St. Helens, Copenhagen, Lima, Mexborough, Doncaster Tramways & Southend.Handing our vehicle on a hairpin bend in the heart of a great city.THE MOBILITY OF THE VEHICLE. Negotiating road excavations. Observe bus leaving its near side & running to the offside to avoid obstruction. This demonstrates its excellent steering qualities.Preparing for a return journey. Turning with ease in a 50ft circle.A FEATURE. Adequate provision has been made for loading and unloading simultaneously.Side-tracked for an express. The express overtakes double deck vehicle picking up local passengers. Half an electric tram, half a bus, better than either.Passing a stationary vehicle on nearside kerb.Over the rails! Level crossings no obstacle.On home stretch. Single and double deckers working in conjunction on same track.Turning on dangerous hill as easily as a private motor car. Note extreme angle of lock.There are good points in the air as well as on the vehicle, but no points to worry about on the road.
