A travelogue of the South East of England.
The film opens with shots of Sussex and Kent. These include Rye, Winchelsea and Arundel. The film moves to East Anglia where the first place featured is Thaxted. The Guildhall and the Church of St. John The Baptist, St. Mary and St. Lawrence features. This includes an interior view. There are many shots of buildings and streets in Thaxted as well as of Thaxted Mill. A street sweeper also features. There are also many close-up shots of flowers and gardens. This is a recurring theme throughout the film.The Cambridge section concentrates of the colleges, particularly St. John's, Christ's and Kings. There are many views from the Backs showing punting and the herbaceous borders of the college gardens. St. John's College Gatehouse is featured along with the Bridge of Sighs, Kings College Chapel, the Wren Library and Clare Bridge.The second film in the collection shows scenes from Lavenham. The Angle and The Swan public houses are both featured. This is another recurring theme of the film - pubs. There are many general shots of streets and half-timbered buildings in Lavenham. These include shots of a troop of girl guides pulling a hand cart up a hill. St. Andrew's Church features and there are interior views showing a stained glass window. This also shows a farming sequence. A David Browne tractor with a binder is harvesting oats. The farm workers collect together sheaves to stack into stookes.The final sequence of the film shows shots of the streets of Kersey and St. Mary's Church. There are scenes of East Bergholt, showing St. Mary's Church and the Red Lion. At Flatford Mill, a father and son are seen fishing. There are shots of Willie Lott's Cottage and Flatford Mill. Finally, the film ends with scenes around the village green at Finchingfield
