The visit of Prince George, Duke of Kent to Wisbech in 1932.

Representative groups assemble on the Market Place for the Civic Reception. A parade of soldiers in uniform (led by a man in academic robes) is followed by school girls in uniform. The Mayor and his party arrive, parading through the streets, and take their places on the dais. The band plays. There is a parade of veterans followed by nurses. There are shots of the crowd in the square, some of them looking up to the camera. The Mayor is seen seated, relaxed and smiling, before rising to his feet at the approach of the Royal car. Prince George is greeted by the Mayor and climbs the steps to the dais. Two different camera angles show the Prince and the Mayor taking their seats. The Mayor reads a welcome from a scroll. The camera cuts away to a veteran standing on the dais wearing several medals. Prince George shakes hands with the suited dignitaries on the dais, probably members of the Wisbech town corporation, and signs the visitors' book. He inspects the veterans who are wearing an assortment of medals and talks to some. The representative groups march away and the crowd disperses. The film ends with high-angle shots of the crowd and the decorated market place.
