Southwold's first motor lifeboat.
There is a long shot of the lifeboat. The crew, dressed in oilskins attend to the rigging. A rowing boat, containing women and children, rows out to meet the lifeboat. There is a shot of the lifeboat dressed overall and then shots of the lifeboat at sea with the crew attending to the rigging once again. The film ends with shots of the lifeboat steaming out of the harbour, towards the sea.

Background Information
This film features the dedication service in July 1926. The Lord Lieutenant of Suffolk, Sir Courtney Warner, presided over the ceremony in the harbour. The dedication service itself was presided over by the Rt. Rev. W.G. Whittingham, Bishop of the Diocese.The Mary Scott, Southwold's first motor lifeboat, was in service between 1925 and 1940 when the station closed. She was funded from a legacy of ?9,000 from Mary Scott and was named after her benefactress.
