Celebrations in Norwich for the Festival of Britain and scenes from the Royal Norfolk Show, 1951.

The film begins with shots of boats on the river and the decorated streets. Guides show visitors around the City, including the Cathedral, the Guildhall, the plaque to George Borrow on the corner of Willow Lane and the Roman Catholic Cathedral. The film moves to Foundry Bridge and the celebrations on the river. Small naval vessels and river boats are shown. There are some fairground scenes and then shots of the 'Albion', a newly restored wherry, sailing on the broads. The film shows the celebrations at Thorpe St. Andrew. These include rowing on the river, fancy dress and the river ferry. On June 19th there was a coach tour to Wolterton Park and Blickling Hall. Coaches are seen leaving from St. Peter's Street, outside the City Hall and there are exterior scenes from Blickling Hall. The film of the Festival of Britain concludes by showing a band playing outside the City Hall and then the parade, with floats showing scenes from different periods of history and the Lord Mayor's coach. This happened on Wednesday, June 20th. At the Royal Norfolk Show at Keswick Park there is a parade of cart horses, hackney carriages and other horses. Prize-winning cattle parade in the arena. There are several scenes from The Musical Ride, a pageant featuring the Household Cavalry. A final scene shows a procession leaving the West Door of the Cathedral.
