Background Information
The intertitle on the film is as recorded, although C.E. Tempest was Mayor of Ipswich in 1926. He is not shown in his civic robes and could have been attending the film on behalf of the current mayor. The film Remembrance was released on 11th November, 1927. The cast included the only British monarch to have acted in films - Edward VIII. As the Prince of Wales he played himself in this film about disabled war veterans. This was his third appearance in movies, the other two being in `The Power of Right' and `The Warrior Strain'. Bostock owned the Lyceum Theatre in Carr Street from 1920 until it closed in 1936. It became a Department Store. The Carr Street Precinct is on the present site. The Playhouse Cinema in Bury St. Edmunds was on the Buttermarket and was the headquarters of the Bostock company.
