BBC report on Brian Cant's role in the theatre production of 'Oh Coward'.

Shot of a dark stage. Brain Cant walks onto the stage from behind the curtains and addresses the audience. He is dressed in a white tuxedo. He says that he was born into a world that took light music seriously and that he listened to music from an early age. He then welcomes the audience at Ipswich Theatre to the production of ‘Oh Coward.’ Backstage, Brian Cant and Peter Symonds are both wearing suits and pick up a fan each. A woman joins them behind the stage and gives them directions. Close up of someone playing the drums. The cast members Brian Cant, Peter Symonds and Corinna Marlow sing and perform the play on stage. Malcom Allsop interviews Brian Cant about the show and asks him whether he thinks the material is sufficiently up to date. Brian Cant praises how clever the writer is and how much he was ahead of his time. He says how much he’s enjoyed being in the show. Background Information

Brian Cant was a Suffolk actor and the presenter of Playschool and Playaway. 'Oh Coward' was a pastiche of Noel Coward's words and songs. It was originally put together for Broadway and also had a run in the West End.
