Nightmarish visions become a reality in this imaginative production that mixes live action, animation, and special effects.

A young man retires to bed at night. He falls asleep. A clock shows it is midnight. The man dreams of finding a mutilated and blood-covered mouse in the bathroom sink. The clock shows the time is now one minute past midnight. The man dreams he has fallen down the stairs. The clock shows the time is two minutes past midnight. The man dreams of finding a venomous snake. The clock shows the time is three minutes past midnight. The man dreams he discovers a human skull. The clock shows the time is four minutes past midnight. Disturbed by these nightmare visions, suddenly the man rouses from sleep. A title card reads “thank God it was only a dream”. The man returns to sleep. A title card reads “Sunday”. The man wakes up. The clock reads one minute to midday. The man gets up and dresses. The clock reads midday. The man’s nightmarish visions continue to be realised in real life. Horrified, the man discovers a mutilated and blood-covered mouse in the bathroom sink. The clock shows the time is now one minute past midday. The man cautiously checks his footing as he walks down the stairs. The clock shows the time is two minutes past midday. The man finds a venomous snake. The clock shows the time is three minutes past midday. The man discovers a human skull. The clock shows the time is four minutes past midday. The man leaves the house only to be involved in a fatal car accident. The clock reads five minutes past midday. The End.

Background Information

Shot on location at the family home in Putnoe in Bedford, Bedfordshire. Jon Coley's father produced the armatures for the models featured in the animated scenes. Jon Coley's mother, Shirley, often helped out by acting as cameraperson in her son's productions.
