Featured vessels include ‘Jervis Bay’ (which would later become HMS Jervis Bay), cargo ship ‘Otaio’ loading its cargo, and ‘Highland Princess’. ‘Photos of Joe's last SS Outing’. On board a passenger liner, a group of men look at some photographs. ‘And so passes one of the 'club's' first and foremost S.S. workers.’ Showing the same man with the photos.

Background Information

The intertitles 'And so passes one of the 'club's' first and foremost S.S. workers' would suggest the trip is to mark the leaving of an employee/club member. A vessel featured in the footage, a steamer called ‘Jervis Bay’ was requisitioned by the Royal Navy in 1939 at the outbreak of the Second World War. HMS Jervis Bay was sunk on 5 November 1940 by the German pocket battleship Admiral Scheer.
