BBC East News interview and footage of a visit by Margaret Thatcher to a local factory.

Margaret Thatcher receives a tour of a factory in the region, donning an overcoat and headscarf to look at the equipment used and products manufactured. The Conservative Party Leader poses with factory employees as a group for photographers. As leader of the opposition, in interview, Thatcher talks about the prospect of a general election following a spate of by-election victories by the Conservation Party, and speculates on public opinion about Labour-Liberal Party relations. Thatcher also responds to questions about motoring costs and the prospect of petrol price increases, and then gives her view on the current state of industrial relations in the country.
