Rush Hour on London Bridge

1896 , City of London (Other)

An actuality film shot by Hertfordshire film pioneer Arthur Melbourne-Cooper.

A record of 'rush hour' traffic crossing over the River Thames, as pedestrians walk in both directions, accompanied by a variety of horse-drawn carts and coaches, as well as a lone cyclist. Despite the title identifying the location as London Bridge, the traffic is actually crossing Blackfriars Bridge, with the City of London School building on Embankment clearly visible in the background.
