Amateur film about a man who wins a cheque which a couple scheme to steal from him.

A man called Jones sits at a table completing a football pools coupon. He folds it and puts it into an envelope marked ‘Screen Pools Ltd, Liverpool.’ A woman gets up from an armchair and he asks her to post the envelope in the morning. The next morning, he checks his watch and quickly turns the radio on. He marks the football scores on a piece of paper and cheer as the scores are correct. They receive a cheque for five-hundred pounds and the man and woman dance around the living room to celebrate. The man asks if he can go to the club to celebrate and the woman agrees. In the club Refreshment Room, the man shows the cheque to a woman behind the bar. He waves it around and people come up to him and shake his hand. His friend invites him to come back to his flat for a drink. The friend calls his wife before he gets home and they scheme to steal the cheque. The woman holds a knife in her hands. They keep pouring him drinks and manage to steal the cheque from him and lock him in the room. When he manages to open the door, his friend has a knife in his chest. The woman comes back with men and accuses him of stabbing her husband. They agree to let him go if he signs the cheque. The man pulls the knife out of his chest and reveals that he was faking. The man returns home to his wife and tells her that he lost the cheque. She faints onto the chair. A pools representative visits the house and tells him that the cheque they sent him has been cancelled as they have actually won first divi of £50,000. The man faints and the representative puts the cheque in his mouth.
