Intimate footage of a carnival and fair on a blustery day in Pulham Market.

The film opens with a shot of the carnival programme announcing the theme is 'songs' which has inspired the carnival floats. A young marching band leads the carnival parade of colourful floats along a residential street, which includes people in country and western dress and men in drag. Enthusiastic villagers line the streets, clapping each float as it passes. A tractor steered by a snowman pulls a trailer with Santa, whilst a plethora of excited children throw imitation snowballs towards the camera (I'm Dreaming of a White Christmas). Other noteworthy floats include ‘Singin’ in the Rain’ complete with working shower, an Oliver Twist themed cart (Food Glorious Food), and a 1950s style float featuring a youthful Bill Haley (Rock Around the Clock). There are tributes to ‘Elvis’ and ‘Cliff’ and a representation of the popular song ‘Brown Girl in the Ring’ blacked up and in drag. The traditional prize-giving follows with speeches from local dignitaries. After the parade has concluded the villagers assemble on a green where various stalls have been erected and people play games and watch musical entertainments. The film concludes with a cycle rally through the idyllic village streets.
