Naval cadets training at the HMS Ganges shore establishment.
At the Royal Navy shore establishment HMS Ganges, cadets undertake signals training with a Hawker Sea Hawk F2 jet fighter (reg. WF257), using hand signals to instruct the 'pilot' to raise and lower the wings and perform a variety of other tasks. At the swimming pool, cadets practice swimming in their uniforms and hone their diving and basic lifesaving skills. Back outside, cadets practice climbing ship rigging, scampering high up to the crow's nest and sliding back down on guide ropes.
