Anglia television news item outtakes; 'Instant Beach' at Brightlingsea.
Outtakes from an About Anglia episode that reports on the “Instant Beach” that has been imported at Brightlingsea. Presenter Michael Robson attempts to perfect his enthusiastic opening sequence as multiple takes and sound checks are performed to camera. Director, David Kenten can be heard off camera instructing the presenter. Mr Robson interviews [Miss Canning] who explains the advantages the beach will give to visitors. A series of reaction shots and lines are then filmed from an alternative angle, giving an insight into the methods of production that an Anglia news team employs. An interview with [Mr Corbin] gives a second example of the filming process, and informs about the costs and purpose of the ‘instant beach’. As Mr Robson fluffs his lines and jests with [Mr Corbin], these outtakes provide an insight into the working atmosphere ‘behind the scenes’ of a news production crew in contrast to the professional image in front of the camera.
