A collection of snow scenes recorded by the BBC across Norfolk in January 1985.

An extended BBC `Look East' report on the heavy snowfalls across Southern England in early January 1985. The report begins with aerial shots of blanket snow coverage surrounding the All Saints Church at Beeston Regis and the nearby caravan park and coastline, as well as the Horsey Mill and along the River Wensum in the centre of Norwich. Aerial views of partially-frozen broads continue at ground level, with a cluster of boatsheds near Acle frozen into the River Bure. Animals are shown struggling with the conditions, as horses eat hay on frozen farmland, a goose wanders the icy riverbank and a pair of swans nestle on atop a frozen broad. A group of young boys ride sleds down a hill, and a schoolyard is shown with a deep cover of snow, as children are sent home. Conditions on the road are treacherous, with a truck braving the icy highway whilst others have pulled onto the roadside. Elsewhere, a man tries to start his car, a large group of commuters wait at a bus stop, and accidents involving heavy vehicles are attended by the emergency services. In the control room of the Norwich Weather Centre, workers busily answer telephone enquiries, whilst the controller discusses the centre's role in providing information to public utility providers and reports that the lowest temperature was recorded at Loddon, which reached a low of -20 degrees. The report concludes with images of a snow-covered pitch at Carrow Road Stadium, and young and old enjoying the opportunity to ice skate on a frozen lake.
