Traffic Congestion in Norwich

1963 , Norwich (Norfolk)

About Anglia item highlighting traffic and parking problems in Norwich.

A policeman directs traffic, and pedestrians are shown dodging buses and cars to cross St Stephen's Street between Curls (now Debenhams) and Marks & Spencer. Moving traffic is not the only problem, however, with parked cars crowding every available space in the city, including the 'No Waiting' zones on London Street and large car parks at Cathedral Close, the Old Cattle Market and Farmers Avenue.
