Cadet training course in Wales where they practice skills such as mountain climbing, knot tying, map reading and first aid.
One of a collection of three Cadet training films of the Hertfordshire County Police filmed in Hertfordshire and at their outdoor training centre in North Wales. Camera pans over the mountains in North Wales and shows the Police Cadets climbing the mountain rocks. They reach the peak and look down over the edge. View from the top of the mountain. Shots of the Cadets doing exercises and boxing inside the training centre gym. Outside, someone picks up a map from a table and gives it to one of the uniformed Cadets. Two Cadets look at the map. They pitch their tents and stand in a group and look at a map. A man at the front points to something in the distance and the group walks in that direction. Shot of the Cadets climbing over a wall, walking past a river and climbing a mountain. The Cadets carry out a mock rescue of a man who slips and is injured on the mountainside. They use a stretcher to bring him down the mountain. They bandage him up and put him in the back of an ambulance. The ambulance drives away and the camera pans to show the view of the mountains.
