1956 , Norwich (Norfolk)

Home movie footage of the Keefe family and guests on Christmas Day.

Home movie footage of a large family gathering at Christmas, featuring guests seated round a table eating lunch, with adults and children present. Many festive traditions are in evidence, including many of the guests wearing paper hats, and featuring a table setting with festive trimmings. A toddler seated in a high chair is engrossed with the contents of a Christmas cracker. The footage captures many of the family members, in particular, two new additions to the family, twin babies, as guests mingle inside the house. After lunch, in the garden, and still wearing paper hats, in high spirits, the guests mingle and play games. A younger family member carries a puppet, perhaps a Christmas gift. Footage continues to capture the family, chatting in the house, and occasionally clutching or showing off a Christmas item, presumably received that day, followed by more party games and mingling in the garden.
