The Harrison Family on holiday at Lowestoft and sailing on the Oulton Broads.
HOLIDAY AT LOWESTOFT JULY 1929. The young boy John Harrison, plays on the grass outside a holiday chalet. A woman, presumably John's mother on a beach collects water in a bucket from the sea. Returning to the holiday home, a man mows the lawn and second child, perhaps John's sister, Susan. FISHING SMACKS ETC. LOWESTOFT HARBOUR. Several fishing boats, called ‘smacks’ are sailing on the water at Lowestoft Harbour. The sea is shown to be rough, as waves hit the groynes along the beach. The boy John and adults, are shown walking along the harbour and then sitting on the beach wearing sunhats. John and his mother are at the water’s edge where the sea meets the shore. On a street, John rides on a donkey, his mother walks alongside. A SEAPLANE. Shots of an aircraft that takes off from on the water. JOHN’S FIRST EXPERIENCE OF SAILING ETC. Shots of John on the deck of a sailing boat and shots of a sailing boat on the water. BACK TO OULTON AFTER A PERFECT DAY. The skipper and passengers on board as the boat sails along the water.
