Travels of the Yacht 'Elver' on the Essex coast

One of a series of films recording the travels of the schooner Elver, her owner V.B. Harrison, crew and guests. Scenes are shot from the Elver including adjustment of sails, sea, waves, buoys, coastline and passing boats, sometimes close enough to see crew in detail. Scenes include: guests on board the yacht and arriving by dinghy; sculling and rowing the dinghy; yachts and barges including Deer Foot, Red Wing and Sea Nymph; applying sun cream; children John and Susan climbing the masts; Stanley pretending to throw a lady overboard; “Potter Junior” with a pleasure trip boat from Clacton; wearing waterproofs in wet weather; the children practising their sailing in the small boat.
