A busy day of deliveries at the Boulton & Paul depot in Norwich.

Documentation of a day of deliveries at Boulton & Paul's busy depot and engineering works at Thorpe Yard, Norwich, on the banks of the River Wensum. Views of the depot storefront reveals a large Boulton & Paul-branded crane loading large steel beams onto a lorry, as traffic edges past under the direction of the Norfolk constabulary. A team of Boulton & Paul workers secure chains to the beams, which are manoeuvred into place by the crane driver and guided down by hand. With the steel beams loaded, the crew move onto a large stack of pre-fabricated steel frames, which are similarly lifted into position on the back of the lorry. With the load assembled, secured and adorned with Boulton and Paul signage, the 90ft-long Pointer Transport lorry sets out on its journey under police escort. The camera follows as the lorry travels through central Norwich past the blossoming garden beds of Castle Meadow and out into the country lanes and villages of Norfolk. Stopping to check the load, the team hold up a stream of traffic, which are finally shepherded past before the lorry sets out again.
