Background Information
This reel belonged to Denis Neale who made many home movies using his own Kinema Colour process - that is a spinning filter wheel on the front of his camera with red and green filters. Using normal black and white film (panchromatic) he shot films (home movies) through this revolving filter. When looked at now, in black and white, they seem to flicker because every other frame of black and white images is slightly different in density depending on which filter it was photographed through (because one was shot through the red filter and one through the green). Denis Neale showed the films using a projector with a corresponding red and green revolving filter on the front. Of course, he had to get the film in sync colour-wise, so that the right frame was shown through the right filter.
