1934 - 1974 , Norwich (Other)

Scenes around Norwich, culminating in a Remembrance Day ceremony.

Opening shot of Jarrolds Printing Press overlooking the River Wensum. Gibraltar Gardens Pub, west of the city centre but still next to the river, in a parkland setting. A brief shot of Castle Meadow with the tower of City Hall in the background, followed by a shot of the King's Head public house on Magdalen Street and a panning shot of the Assembly House. An extended segment set in Chapelfield Gardens - with the Roman Catholic Cathedral in the background - featuring members of the public strolling, relaxing and watching a brass band play in the bandstand. Back to Castle Meadow and the camera shoots from on top of the Castle Mound, giving elevated shots of the streets nearby. Trees and grassy areas around the bridge to Norwich Castle. Following a shot of a car park, the statue of Sir Thomas Browne on the Haymarket (this sequence accidentally reversed), with St. Stephen's Church in the background, before an extended shot of a Remembrance Day ceremony in the Memorial Gardens in front of the marketplace, featuring the mayor and various dignitaries in procession.
