Exploring the wildlife of the Breckland area of Norfolk, and the threat of urban planning on the natural landscape.
A wildlife film capturing the variety of plant and animal life in the distinctive heath landscape of Breckland in Norfolk. Extended sequences of birds, red squirrels, badgers, deer and other animals provide evidence of the delicate balance between nature and the threat of urban sprawl from the London 'overspill' town of Thetford. The film also features lumber workers and flint knappers in Brandon, and the nearby site of Grimes Graves, a pre-historic flint mine on the Norfolk-Suffolk Border. The commentary emphasises the need to preserve natural habitats for wildlife while providing accessibility for the enjoyment of the urban dweller.
