Interview with the former gardener of Sir Alexander Fleming.

Excerpt from a BBC Look East report celebrating the late Sir Alexander Fleming and the time he spent at his Suffolk country home, The Dhoon. A modest sign marks the name of this small house, which served as the country retreat for Fleming from 1921 until his death in 1955. Beside this is a plaque which commemorates his time in Barton Mills. Views of the house are accompanied by interior shots of an adjacent shed where laboratory equipment remains as a reminder of Fleming's ceaseless devotion to science. A BBC reporter interviews Fleming's former gardener, who remembers the scientist as having a keen interest in gardening, golf and fishing, revealing that Fleming's time in Suffolk was primarily for rest and relaxation, but that he also had many friends in the district.
