Father's attempt to conceal his role as Santa from the Martin children - Shirley, Pauline and Digby - and his final undoing.

Drama. A maid wakes Mr and Mrs Martin with a tray of tea and takes a drink to the three young children. The elder two play and have a pillow fight. The parents go downstairs where there are sacks of Christmas presents labelled for the children. The children come downstairs and the parents leave the room. The maid sends them back upstairs before they enter the room and father leaves the house. He goes round to the back door where he takes a Santa outfit and puts it on. The maid brings the children downstairs and they see Santa. Santa takes breakfast with mother. He takes his beard off for comfort but his wife urges him to put it on again in case the children come in. Santa plays with the children and then waves goodbye. He runs round to the front door, discards his Santa clothes, and changes back into his suit, entering the house and leaving his bundle of Santa clothes on the hall table. The children find the parcel, undo it, see the beard and know that their father was Santa.
