Willingham celebrate the Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II in 1977.

A family decorate their home with bunting, streamers, Union Jack flags and royal insignia, and a canvas marquee is raised on the local playing fields, as the Cambridgeshire village of Willingham prepares to celebrate the twenty-five year reign of Queen Elizabeth II. On the morning of the Jubilee, the bellringers of St Mary and All Saints' Church ring out a commemorative peal, as villagers assemble to for the crowning of the Parade Queen. And with the Queen aboard her 'royal' vehicle - a small tractor and trailer, with a kitchen chair for a throne and a tinsel-lined umbrella for shelter - the parade gets underway, as children display their decorated bicycles, or show off their fancy dress costumes, and a car drives past with an elaborate Jubilee sculpture. On the playing fields, children dance in the marquee and queue for refreshments, whilst out on the streets, a Morris dancing troupe give a demonstration. The day of celebrations concludes with an evening of 'Royal Entertainment', including dramatic productions, singing and a mock swordfight.
