Morality tale about the corrosive effect of money.

A painter and a sculptor sharing a third-floor studio are visited by an art dealer and his daughter. The painter is promoted by the dealer, given an exhibition, and falls for the daughter. Class differences, the corrosive effect of money, success, failure, and love are all displayed.
