This film shows the excavation of a 7th-century ship at Sutton Hoo led by Charles Phillips, a fellow at Cambridge. There is also footage of a family visiting the beach and countryside then being on a boat.

Background Information

A wealth of Anglo-Saxon artifacts were retrieved from the archaeological dig, most are now in the care of the British Museum. The ship is considered to be one of England's most brilliant archaeological finds in terms of its size, completeness and the quality of its contents.
