Current UEA students and UEA graduates are invited to apply to join the East Anglian Film Archive team in the role of Videotape Digitisation Technician.  The post is part-time and temporary and will be located at The Archive Centre in Norwich.

This internship which is funded by the University of East Anglia (UEA) T-PIKE project offers hands-on experience with professional equipment and workflows used in audiovisual archiving, contributing to the safeguarding of regional film heritage.

The project:

To support the digitisation of legacy videotape formats as part of the East Anglian Film Archive’s (EAFA) ongoing preservation and access initiatives.

This internship which is funded by the UEA T-PIKE project offers hands-on experience with professional equipment and workflows used in audiovisual archiving, contributing to the safeguarding of regional film heritage.

The Technical Platform for Innovation and Knowledge Exchange (T-PIKE) is an Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) funded strategic technical platform; aiming to upskill all technicians through the sharing of knowledge, training and partnerships with industry.

Details & appointment timeline

This opportunity is open exclusively to current students and graduates of the University of East Anglia (UEA).

The intern will be based on-site at The Archive Centre in Norwich.

The pay rate is £12.59 per hour.

The intern will be expected to work part-time (18 hours per week) for a period of 12 weeks.

The deadline for applications is Monday 16th February 2026.

Interviews are expected to take place on Tuesday 10th March 2026.

The start date is expected to be w/c Monday 23rd March 2026.

This internship is being facilitated by the UEA Internship Programme and you will be employed directly by UEA, whilst undertaking your internship with East Anglian Film Archive.
